We recognise the role of each Registered Aboriginal Party in the management, protection and promotion of cultural heritage.
Indigenous partnerships
We are committed to partnering with Traditional Owners to deliver the Western Renewables Link project in a way that respects connection to Country and delivers lasting outcomes for Traditional Owner communities.
We are partnering with the Wotjobaluk Nations, Eastern Maar, Dja Dja Wurrung, Wadawurrung and Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Traditional Owner groups as they design a self-determined approach to benefits sharing agreements.
Benefits will be developed in partnership and could involve initiatives such as workforce and business development programs, maximising procurement opportunities for Aboriginal businesses, renewable energy projects and vegetation management activities.
We aim to prioritise employment and procurement through Aboriginal owned businesses to help grow local capacity, support skills development and strengthen economic outcomes for Aboriginal people across the region.
