Upcoming community information webinars

The Western Renewables Link project team will be hosting webinars in November to provide information about the latest project updates and answer community questions.

The key topics raised by community members who attended our October Community Information Sessions in Ararat, Waubra, Stawell, Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh and Melton, will be the focus of the webinars, as well as questions asked by attendees.

Experienced specialists with working knowledge of the project will be available to share their expertise across a range of topics including the Environment Effects Statement, bushfire and fire fighting around transmission lines, undergrounding, landholder compensation and farming around transmission lines.

The webinars will also provide information on recent project updates including increasing the transmission line between Ballarat and Bulgana from 220kV to 500kV, works required near the Bulgana Terminal Station, proposed route changes in the Waubra area, and confirmation of the Hepburn Lagoon southern route option.

Please register on our website’s News and Events page to receive the webinar link.

  • Community information webinar #1, Thursday 2 November 11am – 12.30pm
  • Community information webinar #2, Tuesday 28 November 6.30pm – 8pm

The webinars will be recorded and posted to the project website’s Resources section soon after each session.

We apologise to the Newlyn and surrounding community members who planned to attend our Newlyn Community Information Session, which did not proceed due to a planned protest. These webinars will provide an opportunity to seek answers to your questions and we also invite these community members to book an individual meeting by contacting us at info@westernrenewableslink.com.au.

About the project

The Western Renewables Link is a proposed electricity transmission line that will carry renewable energy from western Victoria to homes and businesses across the state and into the National Electricity Market.

The project is critical infrastructure required to unlock the renewable energy potential of western Victoria as a key Renewable Energy Zone and will help to deliver clean and affordable energy to all Victorians as coal fired generation retires.
