How big will the proposed new 500kV switchyard near Bulgana Terminal Station be?

The Western Renewables Link project includes proposed terminal station works near the existing Bulgana Terminal Station, including an upgrade to the existing 220kV equipment at the terminal station and construction and operation of a new 500kV switchyard connected to the existing terminal station.

The location of the proposed new 500kV switchyard near Bulgana Terminal Station has not yet been determined, although it will be near the existing Bulgana Terminal Station.

Terminal stations vary in size depending on the equipment they are hosting. The land size for the switchyard will be approximately 500 by 700m, however there may be changes depending on the layout and orientation of the final switchyard design.
