Compensation

Is the compensation less for a property only hosting the cables and no towers?

The assessment of compensation will vary for each individual property based on a range of factors, not solely based on whether there is a transmission tower proposed for the property.

To ensure that offers of compensation are fair and that they fully consider the impact of the easement, AusNet has appointed a qualified, independent valuer to undertake an assessment of compensation through a valuation in accordance with the methodology and frameworks established with the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986 (Vic), the Valuation of Land Act 1960 (Vic) and relevant valuation principles. It is the role of the valuer to assess the level of compensation payable to landholders, and this assessment will include the impact of any infrastructure within an easement on the property.
