Why has a delivery partner been appointed before planning approvals have been granted?
In December 2025, AusNet signed a contract with ACCIONA and Genus (working as a joint venture) to undertake the project construction works for the project, subject to planning approvals.
Appointing the construction contractors means we can undertake important preparation work and develop the right processes to enable construction to proceed if the project is approved. This will include things like working with landholders to understand biosecurity requirements during construction as well as farming operations and preferred access timings, progressing access track design and working with landholders on where these tracks may go on their property, and answering questions on construction methodology and timing.
Construction will not commence unless the project is approved to proceed.
