Why have contractors been shortlisted before planning approvals have been approved?

AusNet has shortlisted two contractors to participate in an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process, a joint venture between Acciona Construction Australia and Genus Infrastructure (AGJV), and a joint venture with CPB Contractors and UGL Engineering (CPB UGL JV). Engaging with potential delivery partners now will help refine the Environmental Performance Requirements for the Environment Effects Statement, which we are currently compiling information for and expect to be available for public exhibition in 2025. Involving delivery partners early will also support us in developing an optimal construction process and operational solution for the project that considers input from landholders, community members and technical specialists.
